Steele Fields

I'm a free spirit, a poet, a teacher, a mother and definitely not in that order. I'm a realist with a soul and a dreamer with a mind. Someone who's crazy, but not enough to be stared at.  Someone who thinks outside the box, even when they're in one (sometimes it can't be helped). I'm weird, but not enough to wear a pocket protector.   I know that the Fibonacci Sequence is the secret of life. I'm someone who has been bitten and doesn't bite.  I love a good joke and a good conversation. I like being friends with deep thinkers and people who sing in the shower.  I'm the type who talks to strangers and patronizes sidewalk musicians.  I'm a poet, a novelist, a folk artist, a musician and an amateur photographer and I draw my inspiration from the passing carnival of life. 

Musically, I love everything from Radiohead to Beethoven. I'm cool without being trendy. I wouldn't be caught dead with a tattoo or wearing anything that Sarah Jessica Parker chick from "Sex In The City" wears. I believe there is life on other planets. I collect rocks and plant perennials. I have two beautiful teenagers and a dog named Daisy. My favorite movie of all time is "The Wizard of Oz."  I believe in Paul Newman and if given the opportunity, would watch "The Sting" for the twenty-seventh time, any day. 

My favorite place on Earth is The Grand Canyon and I want to hike to the bottom next time I go.  (I only got halfway down the first time because it was getting late and I was afraid the scorpions would get me) Then I want to hike ten miles in, to the Havasupai Falls, where the water is blue-green and only the chosen few get to see it. I love the Southwest and yearn to see the Arizona desert sky once more. Meet me in Sedona, Frisco, Napa, P-Town, South Street...meet me in the places where inspiration lies waiting.
